SANTA MONICA LIFEGAURD TOWER

"In 1987 while I was serving my design duty at Morphosis building the Kate Mantilini Restaurant for Thom and Michael, I became aware of a lifeguard tower gallery exhibition on La Brea across the street from the concrete transit mix plant. It was comprised of alternative ideas by the senior blue blood design pillars of architecture. My classmate Donna organized an engaging exhibit but there was something missing: the current young generation (and who was next). When I shared my observation she retorted, " Martin why don't you and I mount the next generation's show."
